I am an Asian-Canadian actor, singer, and educator with a passion for both stage and screen. Born and slow-cooked in Indonesia, then seasoned and sharpened in Canada, I’m still a work in progress—waiting to be plated.
My journey into the performing arts began in high school when a friend roped me into auditioning for the school musical. I landed a spot in the Junior Chorus, and from that moment on, there was no turning back.
University saw me spending more time in rehearsal halls and dance studios than in lecture halls (let’s keep that between us). After five years, I walked away with a BA in Psychology, supposedly ready for the 9-to-5 grind. Spoiler: that never happened. The stage had me in its grip.
Balancing a full-time job, I performed in musical theatre and show choirs until 2015, when a professional (read: paying) theatre opportunity fell into my lap. Since then, I’ve been incredibly lucky to turn my passion into a career.
These days, while I still take the stage in musicals and plays, most of my time is spent on film and TV sets. When I’m not working, you’ll find me spending time with my Pistachio, walking our fur babies, or soaking up time with my almost-grown sons before they spread their wings.
"Acting is not about being someone different. It's finding the similarity in what is apparently different, then finding myself in there."
~ Meryl Streep
